Joe Lake was assigned by ISP Det. Sergeant (Sgt.) Darren Gilbertson to lead the Victimology team for the November 13, 2022, Moscow, Latah County, Idaho quadruple murder investigation. The Victimology team consisted of me, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent (SA) Jonathan Riggs, FBI SA Jared Thompson, FBI Tactical Specialist (TS) Carrie Hadaway, and statewide ISP Detectives and nationwide FBI Agents for out of area interviews. The Victimology team was responsible for understanding relationships, social groups, public lives, and private lives of the victims and survivors, and the connection to a suspect (s). On January 3, 2023, ISP Det. Sgt. Gilbertson assigned me the additional investigative duty of coordinating the priority of investigation tips related to suspect Bryan C. Kohberger (KOHBERGER).
