SPEAKER_01: I was friends with them.
SPEAKER_01: I was friends with two of whom.
SPEAKER_01: I didn't necessarily know the other two, but I was neighbors with them too.

SPEAKER_00: And which two were you friends with?
SPEAKER_01: Kaylee Goncalves and Matti Moken.
SPEAKER_00: And you were you said you were neighbors with them as well?
SPEAKER_00: I was.
SPEAKER_00: And you said you didn't particularly know the other two?
SPEAKER_00: I knew of them, but
SPEAKER_01: not directly.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Can you describe anything that we'll just start with this and then we'll kind of backtrack a little bit and go over kind of Sunday night.
SPEAKER_00: But can you describe anything that if if an investigator you feel like an investigator should know about Kaylee or Maddie, interactions they've had with other people or anything like that?
SPEAKER_01: Kaylee was dating one of my roommates.
SPEAKER_01: They were on and off for a while.
SPEAKER_01: And I knew Maddie's boyfriend fairly well.
SPEAKER_01: He was just he was older than us and he had already graduated.
SPEAKER_01: He was living down here I knew those two relations.
SPEAKER_01: They were both in sororities.
SPEAKER_01: I knew Kaylee a little bit better just because my roommate had dated her.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: And who's your roommate?
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I can spell that for you too.
SPEAKER_01: That's just a tough one to spell.
SPEAKER_00: I'll just I'll just wing it for now.
SPEAKER_00: You can probably figure that out.
SPEAKER_00: And how was Kaylee relationship?
SPEAKER_00: You said it was off and on.
SPEAKER_01: It was off and on near the end, but they were dating long before we came to college together.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I knew using the same fraternity as me.
SPEAKER_01: And then when we moved out of the fraternity off campus, we were roommates there.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: And they were dating.
SPEAKER_01: I believe they started dating sometime, like, junior, sophomore year of high school.
SPEAKER_01: And she would always and they had a dog together.
SPEAKER_01: They'd always come over and hang out.
SPEAKER_01: They had they had a good relationship.
SPEAKER_01: They always hanging out, always happy together.
SPEAKER_00: I'm assuming they were in an off section of their off and on again.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: What was what was their relationship like while they were in the offs off sections of of it?
SPEAKER_00: Do you know of anything else for Kaylee or Maddie that that would be like a an ex boyfriend or someone that they've gotten into a fight with or anything like that.
SPEAKER_01: I don't know anything about that.
SPEAKER_01: I just know those two are really good friends.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: My girlfriend would definitely be able to tell you more about that because she went to high school with them and was, like, one of her best friends.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: Went to high school with both of them?
SPEAKER_01: Didn't go directly to the same school, but both from
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Did you see Kaylee or Maddie at all on Sunday?
SPEAKER_00: Kinda either
SPEAKER_01: I saw him on Saturday night.
SPEAKER_00: You saw him on Saturday night?
SPEAKER_01: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Did this happen Sunday?
SPEAKER_01: Or was It was sometime between I think it was probably Sunday morning, real late in the middle of the night.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: And so when you say you saw them Saturday, was that the day prior to like the the That football games?
SPEAKER_01: Oh, the night Or the night of?
SPEAKER_01: The game.
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
SPEAKER_01: Alright.
SPEAKER_00: And you said you did see them?
SPEAKER_01: I did.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Can you kind
SPEAKER_01: of walk me through a little
SPEAKER_00: bit of a timeline of
SPEAKER_01: So your interactions with them?
SPEAKER_01: It was probably around 09:00.
SPEAKER_01: I was hanging out with my girlfriend and we went over to back to my house where I was like
SPEAKER_00: 09:00PM?
SPEAKER_00: PM.
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
SPEAKER_01: And probably around like 10:00PM, she said she was gonna head over there to hang out with those two.
SPEAKER_01: She said there wasn't anyone else over there besides just those two and their two other roommates.
SPEAKER_01: And we were all just kinda hanging out drinking and playing some drinking games.
SPEAKER_01: They're probably around somewhere between probably, like, 10:45 to eleven.
SPEAKER_01: They left and got a ride to go to the corner club.
SPEAKER_01: And then shortly after that, me and all my friends who stayed at my house left and went to the corner club as
SPEAKER_00: well.
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
SPEAKER_01: And at the corner club, I talked to them.
SPEAKER_01: It was very brief, but I did talk to them.
SPEAKER_01: I could see them because my girlfriend was hanging around them.
SPEAKER_01: They were all in the same group.
SPEAKER_01: Probably sometime around maybe 11:30, 11:45, it was it was a little bit after we got there.
SPEAKER_01: I walked my girlfriend to the bathroom and those two girls were standing right there and I just asked them because they had a sorority formal the night before and I saw them post on Instagram pictures of them going to formal and stuff.
SPEAKER_01: So I saw the formal was, how your nights been going.
SPEAKER_01: Alright.
SPEAKER_01: Do you guys go to the game?
SPEAKER_01: It it was a pretty brief brief like maybe a five minute conversation just Okay.
SPEAKER_01: How was the weekend?
SPEAKER_01: What you guys up to?
SPEAKER_00: Sorry to backtrack a little bit.
SPEAKER_00: You said they got a ride to the corner club.
SPEAKER_00: Was that from a pledge or from taxi service?
SPEAKER_01: It was from I believe this guy does Uber or maybe he's a taxi, but he's always given this group of girls rides.
SPEAKER_01: And he always, like, they have his number.
SPEAKER_01: He has their numbers.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: It it it I've always thought it was a little weird because he kinda gives him rides for free every once in a while.
SPEAKER_01: But whenever other people ask for rides, he always charges them.
SPEAKER_01: I've always thought that was kinda weird.
SPEAKER_01: He's an older I wanna say he graduated college probably four or five years ago.
SPEAKER_01: Alright.
SPEAKER_01: He's probably in his mid to late twenties.
SPEAKER_00: Do you know his name?
SPEAKER_01: His name I don't know his last name.
SPEAKER_01: I just know
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_01: And that's who and Maddie were with?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: It was Kaylee, Maddie, and my girlfriend.
SPEAKER_01: I believe it was just those three in the car, but there could have been more people there.
SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_01: But they did get a ride from
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what drives?
SPEAKER_01: He switches vehicles.
SPEAKER_01: One time I've gotten into his car and he was driving a minivan, and the other times it's just like little like a sedan looking car, like a Camry or something like that.
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what color it is?
SPEAKER_01: I wanna say silver.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I could be off on that though.
SPEAKER_01: Not a 100%.
SPEAKER_01: And we always just pay him through Venmo.
SPEAKER_01: It's he doesn't have like It's
SPEAKER_00: not through the Uber app.
SPEAKER_01: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: That's why I'm not sure exactly if he's in Uber or if he's just a taxi and kind of friends with these guys because he's not that much older than us.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: So
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: So around 10:45, the three girls get a ride from to the corner club, and then you go shortly after.
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00: What time did you say you headed down there?
SPEAKER_01: Probably sometimes maybe ten, fifteen minutes after then.
SPEAKER_01: Probably closer to eleven is when I got there.
SPEAKER_00: And then you said you had been there for about an hour when you had this short little five minute?
SPEAKER_01: Roughly an hour.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I did notice them walk out afterwards too just because I was asking my girlfriend, what are your friends doing?
SPEAKER_01: She said, they just left to go to John's Alley, and that was that was very late in the night.
SPEAKER_01: That was probably around 12:30 when she had gave me word of that that they left to go to Johns Alley.
SPEAKER_01: It's just another bar.
SPEAKER_01: Just two blocks up the road from the corner club.
SPEAKER_00: And did with them, or did she stay there with you?
SPEAKER_01: She did not.
SPEAKER_01: She stayed with I also noticed too that they were I I can't get off here, but they were hanging out with this one dude who was another college kid our age.
SPEAKER_01: His name is Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I asked my girlfriend about this.
SPEAKER_01: I mean, this is after detraction, what else happened, but I asked her.
SPEAKER_01: It's like, they usually hang out?
SPEAKER_01: Because I never really see those guys hanging out with him.
SPEAKER_01: And she said no.
SPEAKER_01: But he was kind of with them, kind of in the same group with them at the club, and he followed them to John's Alley actually.
SPEAKER_00: Got him.
SPEAKER_01: Say, how how do you mean he followed them?
SPEAKER_01: He's like, he followed them?
SPEAKER_01: He left with them at the same time.
SPEAKER_01: I just thought it was kinda weird because he this I don't know.
SPEAKER_01: Those guys just never really hang out with each other.
SPEAKER_00: So you saw them hanging out with and then I'm gonna jump around a
SPEAKER_01: little bit.
SPEAKER_01: I apologize.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: You walked to the bathroom, saw them kind of in that area, had a real brief conversation with them, and they left shortly afterwards.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: And you saw them leave and follow them or did they leave with him?
SPEAKER_01: They leave well.
SPEAKER_01: They leave well after with him.
SPEAKER_00: And then after that, so okay.
SPEAKER_00: I got those I got that correctly.
SPEAKER_00: So what what happened after that?
SPEAKER_01: After that, me and my girlfriend just walked home probably around it was fair.
SPEAKER_01: It was probably, like, 01:30.
SPEAKER_01: But she lives fairly close to the corner club, we ended up just walking home.
SPEAKER_01: Both of us went over there and stayed there.
SPEAKER_01: And I guess the next morning when we woke up, we woke up, we went and got food, we went to Wendy's, and when she went to drive me home, it was around roughly 11:45.
SPEAKER_01: But when she dropped me off, there was only one cop car there.
SPEAKER_01: Alright.
SPEAKER_01: Parked kind of in front of my house.
SPEAKER_01: I mean, this is sorry.
SPEAKER_01: This is all the morning after.
SPEAKER_01: It might not be very good information.
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: That's that's great.
SPEAKER_01: But when she dropped me off, there's only one cop car there.
SPEAKER_01: And I thought, well, that's kind of weird because, I mean, there's never it's a tiny little road that we live on.
SPEAKER_01: So there's I've never seen a cop come up there except to, like, come for the noise complaint or something from one of the houses.
SPEAKER_01: And shortly after that, she turned around and went to drive back to her house.
SPEAKER_01: And when she drove away, she immediately called me and said, hey.
SPEAKER_01: I just saw 20 cop cars and a fire truck and ENT.
SPEAKER_01: What's what's going on up there?
SPEAKER_01: So I was on the phone and I told my other roommate.
SPEAKER_01: We were all hanging out in the living room and we walked outside and it was me and my other roommate.
SPEAKER_01: Us three went stood outside and watched all these cops run up to their house and immediately start putting a crime scene tape across their whole backyard and everything.
SPEAKER_01: And that's when my roommate his girlfriend, girlfriend with Katie Gong called us.
SPEAKER_01: He ran over.
SPEAKER_01: He's like, oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01: That's Katie's house.
SPEAKER_01: What's going on?
SPEAKER_01: So he ran over there and was over there for probably hour and a half or two hours.
SPEAKER_01: And then when he came back, he he was very upset, obviously.
SPEAKER_01: He was in tears and couldn't put words together.
SPEAKER_01: He ran into his room.
SPEAKER_01: And when he came out, he said, hey.
SPEAKER_01: It's a court.
SPEAKER_01: We were assuming something terrible happened over there.
SPEAKER_01: What's going on?
SPEAKER_01: And he said, some of the girls over there passed away, and one of them was Katie.
SPEAKER_01: And then he went to the police police station up there for questioning after
SPEAKER_00: that.
SPEAKER_00: Got it.
SPEAKER_01: And that was the last time I'd seen him because we all left town that day.
SPEAKER_00: That day being was that Monday or
SPEAKER_01: That was Sunday.
SPEAKER_01: Sunday.
SPEAKER_01: This was
SPEAKER_00: Sunday.
SPEAKER_00: So just so I'm kinda tracking, you so the night before, you walked home to your house?
SPEAKER_00: To her house.
SPEAKER_00: To her house.
SPEAKER_00: Her house.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: And she doesn't live near
SPEAKER_01: No.
SPEAKER_01: She lives on the other side of camp.
SPEAKER_01: She lives on at all.
SPEAKER_01: It's like this weird little alley behind the restaurant.
SPEAKER_01: There's a convenience store going in, but
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: So she lives near the corner club.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Which is on the other side of campus from where you guys live.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: And you live Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: And she you guys woke up when We
SPEAKER_01: went we went to Grub Truck that night as well.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: It's like this little food truck thing.
SPEAKER_01: It's popped up in the middle of the nights on Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: They stay open till, like, three or four.
SPEAKER_01: They stay open pretty late.
SPEAKER_00: When did you go to the grub truck?
SPEAKER_01: After we left the corner club.
SPEAKER_01: We went corner club to grub truck and then over to her house.
SPEAKER_01: And I noticed too.
SPEAKER_01: I went I was looking at social media stories and I mean, like I like I said, these guys are just my friends.
SPEAKER_01: So I was looking through trying to see if I could see something too, and I noticed that they were at Grub Truck shortly after us.
SPEAKER_01: They had posted a Snapchat story.
SPEAKER_01: Kaylee and Maddie did.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: And from the time that it was posted, like, it just tells you how long ago stuff was posted.
SPEAKER_01: It looked like they were there sometime between three and 03:30.
SPEAKER_00: At the grub truck?
SPEAKER_01: At the grub truck.
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if this helps too, but Grub Truck does this thing where they they livestream what's going on because it's it's meant to be like a place where all the drunk college kids go to get like a midnight snack and stuff.
SPEAKER_01: And when you're there, these people can watch it on Twitch.
SPEAKER_01: It's like the slides you gave me a service, but you can watch it there.
SPEAKER_01: And it's happened before where people will type in on the live stream and be like, hey.
SPEAKER_01: This guy, tell him if he does 20 push ups, I'll pay for his food.
SPEAKER_01: So there was people they they Sorry.
SPEAKER_01: I don't need to talk.
SPEAKER_01: That's No.
SPEAKER_01: You're fine.
SPEAKER_01: That's brilliant.
SPEAKER_01: But they post that and you can go back and watch their footage of every night.
SPEAKER_01: So I went back and watched their footage and see those two there, like, 03:30 in the morning.
SPEAKER_01: And at that time where I I went back to watch the footage, I know still with them at around that time.
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if that information helps.
SPEAKER_01: It's just I I went off on that one.
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: We'll take anything, man.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: So you saw that they have posted to their own Snap Stories, but then you also saw on the Twitch stream that they were there
SPEAKER_01: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Around 03:30 in the morning.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
SPEAKER_00: Is the grub truck you said John's Alley is close to the corner club?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: It's roughly And probably I'm guessing the truck is also kind of
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: It's all down
SPEAKER_01: the stretch of downtown Alright.
SPEAKER_01: All those stores and stuff.
SPEAKER_00: When you were at the grub truck, did you notice anything that stood out to you?
SPEAKER_00: Anybody that looked out of place or anything like that while you were there?
SPEAKER_01: I didn't know any of the people there.
SPEAKER_01: It all looked like there were some older people there.
SPEAKER_01: I didn't necessarily recognize anyone.
SPEAKER_00: But nobody nobody that stood out to you like, oh, man.
SPEAKER_00: I got freak creepy or anything
SPEAKER_01: like that.
SPEAKER_01: Notice anyone like that.
SPEAKER_01: When I went there, there's probably 10 or 12 people there.
SPEAKER_01: It was freezing, so everyone was kinda just sitting there probably.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00: I I missed it on my notes.
SPEAKER_00: When when did you end up going and getting breakfast or and getting a ride back to your house?
SPEAKER_01: Roughly around 11:30, 11:45.
SPEAKER_01: Went and got fast food and then went back to my house.
SPEAKER_01: You live by yourself?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: One of her roommates was there and she so she has four roommates.
SPEAKER_01: One of them was there.
SPEAKER_01: The other one of her roommates was down for the weekend with her boyfriend down there.
SPEAKER_01: And then her fourth roommate always spends, like, every night over at her boyfriend's house who he just lives across town in Moscow.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: All four of those girls were in the same sorority that Caitlyn was also in.
SPEAKER_00: And when I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00: And and
SPEAKER_01: I know you already said this.
SPEAKER_01: When did you end up leaving the corner club?
SPEAKER_01: Sand the road, rough truck, and head to Around, like, one, 01:30 roughly.
SPEAKER_01: We left as the the bar was kinda starting to wrap up, they had made last calls and got out of there.
SPEAKER_01: I can look at my bank account when I closed out if that helps too to give you guys a look or, like, an exact
SPEAKER_00: If you want to, you can.
SPEAKER_01: I'll see if I can if I can see that.
SPEAKER_00: When you got your house, did you notice any comings or goings?
SPEAKER_00: Or were you out for the night?
SPEAKER_01: We we sat down and ate food for probably twenty minutes, then we both just went to bed.
SPEAKER_01: From oh, shoot.
SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
SPEAKER_01: It doesn't give me an exact time, but it was on 11:14.
SPEAKER_01: So it was obviously after midnight because that was first thing Sunday morning.
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: That's when I got my job for when I closed down my time.
SPEAKER_01: Alrighty.
SPEAKER_01: I I was I think it was sometime around, like, one 01:30 because people were starting to leave and the bar was about to close.
SPEAKER_01: Did
SPEAKER_00: you notice anything while while the the two girls were stir sorry.
SPEAKER_00: I can't talk.
SPEAKER_00: While the two girls were still at the corner c
