SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Scott First, miss, what's your middle initial And then Just like the sounds inside. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: Like a hole. SPEAKER_00: And what's your address down here? SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So we're just gonna walk through this a little bit slow. SPEAKER_00: We'll go Yes. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Whatever work the way you want. SPEAKER_00: I I kinda made some outlines. SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I I both things. SPEAKER_00: There's been so much, you know, as I've been thinking about it and remembering that I thought, you know, I've just gotta start writing this stuff down. SPEAKER_00: Yep. SPEAKER_00: So so first person? SPEAKER_00: Yes. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Can I can I get that person, the first? SPEAKER_00: Yes. SPEAKER_00: So I don't have his full name. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: But he goes he's I've known him as a troubled kid. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: Or at risk. SPEAKER_00: I'd say at risk. SPEAKER_00: He's not really yeah. SPEAKER_00: Did he live in Moscow? SPEAKER_00: Nope. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Do you know where he lived? SPEAKER_00: Yes. SPEAKER_00: And I just went and double checked that address because I just talked to you. SPEAKER_00: I don't know if they're still there or not. SPEAKER_00: He's living with k. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: I don't have the exact address, but it's Yeah. SPEAKER_00: The yeah. SPEAKER_00: Apartments are in there. SPEAKER_00: Their apartments are Their Is this here in town? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Down on just off the freeway. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So you take that that exit and it's you turn it's that entrance. SPEAKER_00: There's two different entrances to that. SPEAKER_00: Mother was living there. SPEAKER_00: And you may know that's daughter who used to be and I don't know what and I don't know what the the child's last name is because, you know, it's his dad's last name. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And I just knew it was didn't need to know more than that. SPEAKER_00: So let's go back a little bit. SPEAKER_00: Just off of Okay. SPEAKER_00: And it was in it's went straight in right up the stairs to that stairway. SPEAKER_00: That's where they did live. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: I dropped off some instruments and I even spent a night there one night. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: You're be apart. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna have you go slow kind of from, I guess, the beginning of Okay. SPEAKER_00: What you know, and and I'll be taking some notes. SPEAKER_00: So like I said, just we'll just kind of work our way through this. SPEAKER_00: Okay? SPEAKER_00: Whatever way you we get questions in. SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, Lord will and I won't forget it. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: It's something. SPEAKER_00: Matt thinks so it's actually and his wife's family. SPEAKER_00: And they do a yearly picnic up at a a lake north. SPEAKER_00: Gosh. SPEAKER_00: It's quite a little bit north of Deer Park, but it's kind of a lake that they all have gone to. SPEAKER_00: They they go every year. SPEAKER_00: It's kind of their family reunion. SPEAKER_00: It's been going on for multiple generations. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So I drove both whom were having a hard time with their driving and whatnot. SPEAKER_00: And so when I was working the store and I didn't have any other people around in at the start of COVID. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So the very first summer of COVID. SPEAKER_00: And so I drove them up there, and at SPEAKER_01: the last minute daughter, and SPEAKER_00: I don't remember the daughter's name right now. SPEAKER_00: She's a little younger. SPEAKER_00: Not not much. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And so I met him just during the drive. SPEAKER_00: Very pleasant kid when it comes to They were all in the car, wouldn't you? SPEAKER_00: They're all in the car. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: So we went up there, and then we went to the picnic. SPEAKER_00: And so while we were up there at the picnic, blessed kids, those girls, they all got their own certain fire, and some of them were at fire one to the other. SPEAKER_00: But one of the daughters had was there was a lot of little kids around, and other people were coming in there. SPEAKER_00: And because of COVID, there was more people out camping than normal. SPEAKER_00: So people went out to but, anyway, so there got to be a one of the daughters was just giving people a real hard time getting them to slow down. SPEAKER_00: So she was playing traffic cop, didn't wanna get through. SPEAKER_00: Yep. SPEAKER_00: And but but she she was a little over yeah. SPEAKER_00: A little overdoing it a little bit. SPEAKER_00: But, anyway, so she annoyed some other man, and so they they kinda got into an altercation. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And and then two of the other listers kinda got in and they was like, this isn't too good. SPEAKER_00: So this one man at one point, he mentioned something kinda almost like a threat with a gun type of thing. SPEAKER_00: And so so, anyway, so I didn't think too much about that. SPEAKER_00: But, anyway, a little later in the evening, the the ladies had to walk past one of these other people's camp was. SPEAKER_00: And so I went up on the hillside just to watch, make sure everything was okay and nobody was gonna bother them. SPEAKER_00: So lo and behold, while I'm sitting up there pretty quick, all of a sudden just shows up. SPEAKER_00: Boom. SPEAKER_00: He's right there. SPEAKER_00: And so very stealthy, and all of a sudden, wow. SPEAKER_00: That was pretty intense. SPEAKER_00: And he he'd been on the other side of the hill watching. SPEAKER_00: So I go, wow. SPEAKER_00: That's pretty amazing. SPEAKER_00: And and I thought he was a little older than he was. SPEAKER_00: He my take on that is his his mother oh, I think I and and is very, very verbally abusive. SPEAKER_00: And so my take on that is he's because of their family circumstance, he sees himself as the man of the family and the protector. SPEAKER_00: You know, I actually felt pretty good about most things. SPEAKER_00: And I just thought and I was surprised because he he carried himself about two years older than what I thought he was. SPEAKER_00: Or what yeah. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: I thought he was he was at that time? SPEAKER_00: I I was thinking he was probably 17. SPEAKER_00: 17. SPEAKER_00: 17. SPEAKER_00: It turned out he was lonely fourteen fifteen. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So, know, very and and at that time, his man pulled out and showed me he had a a pretty serious knife on him at the time. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And so he was really into knives, so that was kinda the first time I realized, okay. SPEAKER_00: And then in conversations, realized that he had had been into cram. SPEAKER_00: The kid is a soldier at heart. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: I think he's dreamed of being a soldier, stealthy, rangers type of thing. SPEAKER_00: This is where he's headed. SPEAKER_00: But he you know? SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah, I think he's to honest, be I kinda got the general impression over the since that time that he kinda eat, drinks, and breathes. SPEAKER_00: So yeah. SPEAKER_00: So he jumped from there. SPEAKER_00: Let's see. SPEAKER_00: So that's that was when we first became acquainted. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And then through different times, other other family gatherings, times that they would come up. SPEAKER_00: I think she came up one time to help even when we were closing out the store. SPEAKER_00: But I've met with them and traveled with them several different times. SPEAKER_00: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: So it's these kind of family things. SPEAKER_00: Family were a little bit to be in life near Easter. SPEAKER_00: And so I'm I'm at a couple different times, three even up to there. SPEAKER_00: So they would usually meet up at their family park up there. SPEAKER_00: And but another thing about was he he wasn't hanging with all the regular crowd, other cousins and stuff. SPEAKER_00: He some, but he's a little bit of his own person, more of his own person, a little little bit more set apart. SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, that's been my overall first impression was he was kind of a protector, set on a military career. SPEAKER_00: He talked about that a lot. SPEAKER_00: Yes. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Talked about it a lot and talked and I would ask him. SPEAKER_00: And when I'd see him, it's like, wow. SPEAKER_00: Nice programming. SPEAKER_00: Anyway, and that has stayed pretty consistent the whole time I've known him. SPEAKER_00: He's done that. SPEAKER_00: But he had you know, on several occasions, you know, he has pulled out and showed me his array of knives, and he had multiple knives. SPEAKER_00: What would you describe those? SPEAKER_00: So his knives, the first the first round of them were one would be kind of a more like you do like, I come from a hunting background. SPEAKER_00: So one would be more like a skinny knife. SPEAKER_00: But then he had, you know, one like you would do when you're you're gunning out a deer. SPEAKER_00: So he had a pretty good sized knife. SPEAKER_00: And one of those knives, that even that first knife, it it was more of an assault type weapon, but it it wasn't really huge. SPEAKER_00: But it but I'd say probably that one probably seven inch blade, maybe might I don't think it's eight. SPEAKER_00: But yeah. SPEAKER_00: More more like one that you'd see typical deer hunter take up as his main knife and then, of course, you get out the deer, then he pulls out his skinning knife when he had his skin. SPEAKER_00: So yeah. SPEAKER_00: So he had an array of those and, you know, and each time he traveled, he he had those knives. SPEAKER_00: When he would come up to Moscow, he had those knives. SPEAKER_00: I I've seen him pull them out about three or four different locations. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And there's a good chance that if if this all falls through, the the weapon you're looking for may be still sitting in one of those hiding spots, and I'll I'll give you that information too. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: That's that was pretty much the introduction to him. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And so that's always been kind of the case. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Far as I noticed, he was staying on that track. SPEAKER_00: Last I heard his grades had kinda dropped a little bit. SPEAKER_00: There was a question. SPEAKER_00: I kinda got a second hand through his granddad that if he didn't get his grades up or something, it might not get into his military program that he was wanting to. SPEAKER_00: And I, you know and then I was always kinda worried about him because every time there's another, we get three sheets to the wind and get verbally abusive. SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, man. SPEAKER_00: It wouldn't take much for this kid to to snap at some point. SPEAKER_00: I mean, she could be very, very verbally rough on him. SPEAKER_00: And so I was but it's kinda yeah. SPEAKER_00: I don't wanna have to sidetrack here. SPEAKER_00: It'd be really easy for me to go chase a rabbit here, so I think I'll k. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So that was my initial meetings, and and that they said went to multiple family functions with them. SPEAKER_00: And, usually, I drove k. SPEAKER_00: Back. SPEAKER_00: And then they would come now he as they traveled, so he would probably have a hard time locating him because they always tried she had lost her license from drinking, whatever. SPEAKER_00: So when and his mom would travel? SPEAKER_00: When they traveled and the daughter, they always traveled via bus. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So they come up on the coach to Moscow and then we go back on the coach unless that some family member gave them a ride. SPEAKER_00: They traveled up there several times or maybe not even known. SPEAKER_00: Right? SPEAKER_00: What's that? SPEAKER_00: Did you always know when they were up there? SPEAKER_00: At all up at Moscow? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Not always. SPEAKER_00: I but probably while I was there, probably yeah. SPEAKER_00: Usually 90% the time because I was stopped by. SPEAKER_00: I spent a lot of time with in his backyard with around his little his little fireplace stove there. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And we'd come over there and hang out with him k. SPEAKER_00: Until we get tired and start nodding off. SPEAKER_00: Know, so we'd have a cup of coffee and a lot of times he'd be over and so we'd just kinda hang out. SPEAKER_00: We'd listen to music. SPEAKER_00: Well, I'd listen to music. SPEAKER_00: So usually the boy would come. SPEAKER_00: Now when they stayed, so when they stayed, the locations are probably important here. SPEAKER_00: When they'd stayed, the kids, the two kids, the boy and the girl slept downstairs in a big double bed down there. SPEAKER_00: And and that basement at the time was SPEAKER_01: the whole house was basically lost. SPEAKER_00: She didn't throw anything away. SPEAKER_00: Was obsessive, compulsive, everything. SPEAKER_00: In fact, as I was gonna stay there a little bit, I took a box a a Costco box of lint and stuff away from the from the washing machine because it was just heaping over. SPEAKER_00: So I took it out to the trash and just totally freaked out the house. SPEAKER_00: Right. SPEAKER_00: And I and I was replacing it with one of the trash cans left over from the music store, I thought, man, I'm not staying here. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: So it didn't take me long to be out there. SPEAKER_00: But never stayed down in there because of, you know, spiders and and bugs would bite her down there, and so she just she would not sleep there. SPEAKER_00: But I at one point, I know had his knives in a duffel bag down there at one time. SPEAKER_00: So he had pulled pulled them out of there. SPEAKER_00: And I think he might have when he if he transported the knives, think he might have transported them under the cardboard of the Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Duffel bag. SPEAKER_00: So I don't know that he always transported him. SPEAKER_00: I I kinda got the impression that he just kinda kept them stashed up there. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And while I'm involved with the locations that I know I'd seen him pull it out from the woodpile one time. SPEAKER_00: So what's the address? SPEAKER_00: That's on let's see. SPEAKER_00: Is it is it turns into Back this way? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Right behind. SPEAKER_00: So one one little street runs behind his house. SPEAKER_00: The other one k. SPEAKER_00: Maybe it'll Right right out there. SPEAKER_00: So Lynn yeah. SPEAKER_00: It makes kind of a c sheet. SPEAKER_00: There's a house on the corner, but his yeah. SPEAKER_00: There's a road behind him. SPEAKER_00: So, like, a lot of times when I park, I always park on the whatever that whatever that it starts with the home. SPEAKER_00: I'm sure. SPEAKER_00: So so but, anyway, so there's two sheds there. SPEAKER_00: And he would either sleep on the the picnic table, she would not sleep in the house, or she would stay out in the shed. SPEAKER_00: And I ended up just this summer putting a roof on that shed. SPEAKER_00: Two years to do that. SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh. SPEAKER_00: So at the end of that was the last time I saw Gabe and his mom. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: And so and there's a whole event, the shadow event for what we're dealing with took place at that time. SPEAKER_00: So let's you you said that But the locations Yep. SPEAKER_00: Let's go back to those locations. SPEAKER_00: The location so either the shed that's got the new roof that's long and then there was an old shed we hauled all the trash off out of. SPEAKER_00: And, I mean, it was, you know, it was so deep in there that we we found a rototiller nut under there. SPEAKER_00: There were chainsaws or something. SPEAKER_00: There was things that haven't been seen in years. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: But, anyway, so this fall, a lot of people jumped in the family and went on to clean everything up after after anyway, so the locations I've seen him go to for these nights was one of the shed, the the those two back sheds. SPEAKER_00: Multiple times, I think, he's had them kinda stashed away into one I put the roof on. SPEAKER_00: So yeah. SPEAKER_00: And then woodpile, you said? SPEAKER_00: And then one time I saw him, you know, pull him out from the woodpile. SPEAKER_00: Now there are some of his cousins are aware of the knives and that too. SPEAKER_00: And and I think the other kids kinda looked up to him a little bit. SPEAKER_00: So which is the I can't think of that son. SPEAKER_00: She lives down Her and but the dad lives up there in Moscow, and he's and so yeah. SPEAKER_00: So is a couple years younger. SPEAKER_00: He might be worth talking to at some point. SPEAKER_00: Just kind of put a little aside. SPEAKER_00: I know that on the one event, he may be aware of where there's an event that took place. SPEAKER_00: And then there's another cousin that lives there and I think that's so there's been some divorces. SPEAKER_00: So some of the kids are in there part of the time and part of the time they're not. SPEAKER_00: But there's there's some of these boys, and when they get together, they could be kind of a they could be killed. SPEAKER_00: They're boys. SPEAKER_00: So any other location? SPEAKER_00: You got the two sheds, the new one in the old one, and then there's the wood pile? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: The wood pile, the two sheds, down in the basement. SPEAKER_00: These would be the three places. SPEAKER_00: And if not, you float them. SPEAKER_00: Now my thought on this is in light of some of the other stuff that come on, he's a very smart kid in this stealth activity. SPEAKER_00: If you see the movies where the guy can get up and all of sudden he pops up out of the water, pops out of the brush in front of you, this kid's not good. SPEAKER_00: And he's been studying it that long. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: He but, anyway, so he may be smart enough that that gun is dirt not gun, but that knife has vanished. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And now that knife was not first seen. SPEAKER_00: The knife that I think the last one I saw is even a bigger weapon, and it it's serious. SPEAKER_00: The last weapon I saw, it's probably got a nine inch blade or it's it's enough that it would go right above their rib cage right to a heart. SPEAKER_00: And and it also has well, I I mean, it's kinda checking. SPEAKER_00: It's kind of a both those it's an assault. SPEAKER_00: And it's definitely a sign for it. SPEAKER_00: So these knives have kind of, you know, this kind of look. SPEAKER_00: Put this one in, but it has also the tear barbs. SPEAKER_00: Yep. SPEAKER_00: So Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And so the this tip's pretty sharp and long. SPEAKER_00: If I remember, was the last one showed me was longer, might be even a little longer, and then these barbs were back a little further. SPEAKER_00: So it's a type of a, you know, slice in and tear out. SPEAKER_00: So let me you'll get my stupid picture. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: It's big. SPEAKER_00: It's not as big. SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's as big as who knows how big that Right. SPEAKER_00: That boy knife was, but this is big. SPEAKER_00: I was relating to the different I bought different Buck family, you know, and tried to come into I, you know, I like them. SPEAKER_00: So at one time, I had a pretty good size, my hunting knife. SPEAKER_00: So it was probably you know, I'm thinking that's probably six, seven inches. SPEAKER_00: This knife. SPEAKER_00
