SPEAKER_00: And I know I just asked you this, but we'll get on the recording. SPEAKER_00: So how how do you know the victims of this? SPEAKER_01: So I Sam was a really close friend of mine, I'd say. SPEAKER_01: Outside of my story, like, she was one of, like, the closest people. SPEAKER_01: My closest friend here we have, we're always together. SPEAKER_01: I was together, like, on the weekends and stuff. SPEAKER_01: Like, that's who I partied with, that's who I was always around. SPEAKER_01: And then Ethan was a really good friend of mine from a training I was really close to. SPEAKER_01: I knew of Maddie Mogan, and I had never met Kaylee. SPEAKER_00: And correct me correct me if I'm wrong. SPEAKER_00: You had spent a little bit of time with Xana and Ethan the night or two prior to the incident. SPEAKER_00: Is okay. SPEAKER_01: Night. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: That's right. SPEAKER_00: So will you just kind of walk through, I guess go go as far back as you feel is pertinent. SPEAKER_00: And then as you're as you're recalling things, I would say don't if if there's, like, a small detail that you think is, like, oh, that's not important or something like that or something that, you know, maybe doesn't sit well with you Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: We're we're trying to gather as much information as we can. SPEAKER_00: And so anything big or small, any information that you have, we'll take from you. SPEAKER_00: So like I said, go back about as far as you think is pertinent Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: In regard to Saturday or even Friday. SPEAKER_00: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: And just like I said, we'll kinda give you, like, an open narrative forum to Okay. SPEAKER_01: So Saturday was, like, kind of a weird day. SPEAKER_01: It was raining. SPEAKER_01: It was, like, the last one football game, and there just wasn't a ton of people out. SPEAKER_01: And it was Envision, Idaho, so it was supposed to be dry on campus. SPEAKER_01: And so we were even supposed to really have a lodge party. SPEAKER_01: And a lodge party is typically what, like, would throw out. SPEAKER_01: They threw it all the time. SPEAKER_01: It was, like, verified through the university, verified through FSL. SPEAKER_01: Like, it was fine. SPEAKER_01: And, um, we all showed up the lodge party, and it was, like, it was kind of a weird like, it wasn't there weren't many people. SPEAKER_01: Like, there it was kinda slow. SPEAKER_01: Like, usually, last party's kind the biggest party on campus, like, everybody comes, and, um, they keep names on everybody that comes in. SPEAKER_01: Um, and so has a complete list of everyone that walks through the door. SPEAKER_00: And real quick, not to interrupt you. SPEAKER_00: I apologize. SPEAKER_00: You're good. SPEAKER_00: I am not remarkably familiar with Greek culture. SPEAKER_00: What is a lodge party? SPEAKER_01: So a lodge party the only reason they call it a lodge party is it Simba Kai's, like, big party room is, like, they call it the lodge. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: And so everybody, you know, you go in whenever the big at, like, the front of the door. SPEAKER_01: Like, there's certain people that will, like like, last year, I never walked through the door with, like, the guys in the front, but they have, like, people who are sober at the front, like, looking at vandal IDs, like, taking names down because for FSL, have to make sure, like, you know who's coming in and out. SPEAKER_00: And what is FSL? SPEAKER_00: For Terry, it's SPEAKER_01: forty Life. SPEAKER_01: So it's like a like a group of, like, adults that, like, make sure that everything's good. SPEAKER_01: And, they keep, like, tabs on everybody, but, like like, for me, like, I would usually read the pregame, so I wouldn't be involved in that, like, list, if that makes sense. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Um, and, like, if I walked through, like, obviously, like, I ran for their sweetheart, so, like, I probably didn't get written down. SPEAKER_01: But, like, anybody who, like, they don't know or, like, are super familiar with, typically, it's written down or they have to be on the list. SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, you go in whenever. SPEAKER_01: There wasn't enough time people there that night, and so I spent a lot time in the apartments that night. SPEAKER_01: So Sima Kai is set up, and they have, like, their big party room, like, right here, and then they have, like, a grassy, excuse me, a grassy area out here, and then, like, apartments that go around, like, in the same big, like, square. SPEAKER_01: And we were in an apartment and I was sitting in there, and I guess I walked in and Xana was in in there. SPEAKER_01: And I always like, every time I see Xana, was always like, oh my god. SPEAKER_01: Thank God you're here. SPEAKER_01: Like so we sat down. SPEAKER_01: We talked for a while about, like, how healthy her Ethan's relationship was and how she was really excited for her, like, wedding with him because there was I mean, like, not that they were gonna get married anytime soon, but just, like, hypothetically speaking, like, some of high high fi wedding would be, like, really fun stuff. SPEAKER_01: She talked about that for a while. SPEAKER_01: Think I went back in and out of a lot a couple times. SPEAKER_01: And, like, Xana, like, that group could already pretty hard. SPEAKER_01: And, like, sometimes you look over and be like, oh my gosh. SPEAKER_01: You guys are really drunk right now. SPEAKER_01: Like, of course, like, me too. SPEAKER_01: Like, all of us, you know, we're grief, like. SPEAKER_01: And Xana, like, wasn't super drunk that night. SPEAKER_01: Like, it wasn't like she was, like, plastered by any means. SPEAKER_01: And my friend was on the room, Took a photo of her that night at 02:00 when she was at Sigma Chi playing the guitar and put it on her story. SPEAKER_01: And so, obviously, she's like, she has that photo. SPEAKER_01: You guys wanna see it. SPEAKER_01: Do you hear? SPEAKER_01: Or is SPEAKER_00: it just Yeah. SPEAKER_00: If you if you and Monday have it. SPEAKER_01: We have so many photos from recently. SPEAKER_01: So this is this is on right at 02:00 in the morning in Simba Kai, and that's Santa. SPEAKER_01: But, like, I know when everybody was leaving, I think Zan and Ethan just got up and walked home. SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think that they didn't go anywhere else. SPEAKER_01: I think they just went home after that. SPEAKER_01: And, um, I got a ride home with a kid named who was the Sigma Chi Sober Rogue. SPEAKER_01: Remember when I said, like, there's, like, sober kids that sit at the door and watch him comes in? SPEAKER_01: One of those Sober Rogues. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: And so he gave me a ride home to Game of Five. SPEAKER_01: And then probably, like, literally right after, went to Grub Truck and picked up Kaylee and Morgan. SPEAKER_01: Maddie. SPEAKER_01: Sorry. SPEAKER_01: I was saved. SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: See. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Maddie and Kaylee. SPEAKER_01: And in the Grub Truck video, you can see a bunch of different eyes and a bunch of kids are there, and they're all hanging out with them. SPEAKER_01: And then they walk over out of that video, and they go over to their silver wheel car and drove them home. SPEAKER_01: After we got home, we went to the SPEAKER_00: And you said I'm sorry. SPEAKER_00: You SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: And picked up. SPEAKER_00: And is a guy or gal? SPEAKER_00: And he picked you up from SPEAKER_01: Sigma Chi. SPEAKER_00: Sigma Chi. SPEAKER_01: Because he was he's a Sigma Chi, and he drove me back to SPEAKER_00: Do you know about what time that was? SPEAKER_01: That must have been probably right around two. SPEAKER_01: And SPEAKER_00: then from there went and picked up the girls from the grub truck? SPEAKER_01: I don't know I don't know if he went home first, but I know he's in the grub truck video, and I know that's who drove him home. SPEAKER_00: When you say the grub truck video, you mean the, like, live twitch twitch one? SPEAKER_00: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: Alrighty. SPEAKER_00: So you were at Sigma Chi. SPEAKER_00: Did you spend most of the time there at that apartment you were talking about? SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_01: I didn't go into any other apartments that night. SPEAKER_00: And did you go anywhere else? SPEAKER_00: Did you go back into the lodge or anything like that? SPEAKER_01: Well, I went back and forth to the lodge in that apartment. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And was Xana there the whole time? SPEAKER_01: I think Xana came back. SPEAKER_01: Xana was just kinda flopping with us, like, just back and forth to lodge, apartment, hang out for a little bit kinda thing. SPEAKER_00: Alright. SPEAKER_00: When was the the last time you saw Xana before where does where does live? SPEAKER_01: Like, she's she's SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: So she's with me. SPEAKER_01: And We live in the same house. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And the video that you saw is in room, you said? SPEAKER_01: The video to the photo I've shown? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: That was so that was a photo of Xana in the apartment that we were all hanging out at at two in the morning at Sigma Chi. SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay. SPEAKER_00: Alright. SPEAKER_00: So when was the last time that you saw Xana at Sigma Chi in your SPEAKER_01: Well, Well, I sat with her for a really long time, and then I sat with So probably the last time I sat down and talked to Xana, it was probably around 12:45 ish, maybe. SPEAKER_00: Alright. SPEAKER_00: Do you did you see Xana leave? SPEAKER_00: Was she there when leave. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: We did. SPEAKER_00: Do you know if she was still there when you left? SPEAKER_01: I think she was. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: But I don't know that for a fact. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: I was kinda on a lot of people there. SPEAKER_00: Alrighty. SPEAKER_00: So And so you got a ride home from SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: And then what happened? SPEAKER_01: I went home. SPEAKER_01: We had ordered pizzas. SPEAKER_01: We were all sitting in my like, what they call, like, the day rooms. SPEAKER_01: You have, like, your day room where you keep all your stuff and, like, a porch is where we all sleep. SPEAKER_01: And I was hanging out with all my friends in our day room eating pizza, then and one of our texted us and was like, hey. SPEAKER_01: Do you guys mind coming over to And we're like, yeah. SPEAKER_01: And so we were at probably till around, like, in the morning. SPEAKER_01: And then the next day, I woke up, and I was supposed to go study with some of the Sigma Chi's. SPEAKER_01: And so I went over to Sigma Chi around noon when we all found out about this. SPEAKER_00: Got it. SPEAKER_00: Did you stay at SPEAKER_01: the house? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: I did not. SPEAKER_01: I came back to oh, we all came back. SPEAKER_00: So you went to around four. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: We went to probably around 02:30 and then came back around four. SPEAKER_01: And our next door neighbor. SPEAKER_01: Sigma Chi Sigma Chi is like so we have, like, old Greek where it's like it's like like, most of the Greek houses. SPEAKER_01: And then, like, all the way across campus on Advent Lawn is where Sigma Chi, a g d a k l, is. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: So it's like a total it's like a separate thing. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: It's like a it's a pretty good walk. SPEAKER_01: It's a tall it's a solid, like, five, six minute, seven minute walk. SPEAKER_00: And you said they're your next like, they're actually your next door neighbor. SPEAKER_01: I'm SPEAKER_00: really sorry. SPEAKER_00: What sort sorority are you in? SPEAKER_00: Right. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And where is your house and the house in reference to the victim's house? SPEAKER_01: Are they SPEAKER_00: are they anywhere close? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: They're very far away. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Well, no. SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, far away in terms of, like it's, like, the other side of campus. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Over by, like, the Sigma Chi or SPEAKER_01: Theirs is, like their house is, like, literally, you can I was standing in the lodge that lot before we had the lodge party looking across to Santa's house when all the cops showed up? SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Like, it's, like, right there. SPEAKER_01: You walk across, like and that's, like King Street is where everyone lives. SPEAKER_01: Like, King Street is, like, where all the parties happen. SPEAKER_01: Like, that's where everybody is. SPEAKER_01: It's, like, chock full of college kids in there. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So you came home around four from the house. SPEAKER_00: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: And okay. SPEAKER_00: So what happened after you came home? SPEAKER_01: Just went to bed. SPEAKER_00: Went to bed. SPEAKER_00: And you woke up SPEAKER_01: Probably around eleven because I had I was studying at noon. SPEAKER_01: You know? SPEAKER_01: And at first, we I'm like, we didn't know, you know, what it was. SPEAKER_01: So there was a little bit there where we thought it'd be fentanyl or, like, carbon monoxide or something. SPEAKER_01: But, like, Zane and Ethan weren't big drug people by any means. SPEAKER_01: I don't I I I never saw them do coke ever. SPEAKER_00: Had you seen them do any other drugs? SPEAKER_01: I feel like a roll, but, like, nothing. SPEAKER_01: It was mostly just alcohol or, like I don't even think I don't Xanax really didn't even take edibles or anything. SPEAKER_01: I also saw that night too. SPEAKER_01: Who's That's one of the roommates who survived. SPEAKER_01: K. SPEAKER_01: Sorry. SPEAKER_01: My gut feeling on this is that somebody was after either Kaylee or Maddie and then accidentally ran to see Xana and Ethan. SPEAKER_01: Xana and Ethan were, like, the most uncontroversial. SPEAKER_01: I would say, like and like I said, like, even before Xana died, I would describe like, I and I did. SPEAKER_01: Like, I described her as the most popular girl and regrow. SPEAKER_01: Everyone knew Xanana. SPEAKER_01: Everyone loved Xanana. SPEAKER_01: Like, every single hometown like, there's just no, like I've never been sitting in a room where somebody said, like, oh my god. SPEAKER_01: Did cure what Xanana did? SPEAKER_01: Like, it wasn't like that with her. SPEAKER_01: She was just always nice to everybody. SPEAKER_01: If she realized in a situation that somebody wasn't included, she would invite into the pregame, like, you know, sit with them. SPEAKER_01: Like, it just didn't it didn't matter who you were. SPEAKER_01: Xana was and Ethan was the same way. SPEAKER_01: I mean, Ethan was just one of those kids that, like, wasn't into the drama, just super nice. SPEAKER_00: Other than you don't necessarily see somebody wanting to go after those two, is there any other reason why you think somebody would be targeting Maddie or Kaylee? SPEAKER_01: Mm-mm. SPEAKER_01: You know, when when I I had left, um, Moscow, my mom had come pick me up, and, um, a couple of same kind came over and hung out with us, couple of our really close friends. SPEAKER_01: And they said that Kaylee had a stalker or something to that extent, but I don't I I don't know the validity of that. SPEAKER_01: I don't know where they got that. SPEAKER_01: I don't know anything about that. SPEAKER_01: There wasn't, like I mean, in terms of, like, animosity with anything, though, I mean, it's, like especially with those roommates. SPEAKER_01: I mean, there was just no like, there wasn't any fighting. SPEAKER_01: And, like, Xana and I had had, like, a lot of conversations because her out of house last year, um, the one directly next to the house that she was living in, um, I mean, they partied, like, all the time, like, really hard. SPEAKER_01: Not I mean, not, like, drugs and stuff like that, but, like, wine night, tequila Tuesday. SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what I mean? SPEAKER_01: Just drunk a lot. SPEAKER_01: And she was telling me how much how great this year has been because she, like, comes to school more and, like, you know, she's going to the gym and she'd gotten a boyfriend. SPEAKER_01: You know what mean? SPEAKER_01: Things were going really well, and that's why I can't I can't I'm I I don't know. SPEAKER_01: I don't know. SPEAKER_01: So this summer, I lived at Anyways, go back to bed. SPEAKER_01: Like, it because, I mean, it was just, like, in such a porous you know what I mean?
