SPEAKER_00: We're interviewing What was your last name?
SPEAKER_00: UI incident and her knowledge of friends up there.
SPEAKER_00: I don't know why I'm getting my I lost my mind.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: So you say before that you know
SPEAKER_01: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: We'll just start off with Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: How long have you known him for?
SPEAKER_01: Probably since tenth grade.
SPEAKER_01: So I think that's, like, six years now.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: For about six years?
SPEAKER_01: Six or seven.
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: I think.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Are you guys close friends?
SPEAKER_01: Kind of, like, been in the same friend circle for a long time.
SPEAKER_01: He actually worked here for a while too.
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
SPEAKER_01: So I've known through that.
SPEAKER_00: How long have you worked here for?
SPEAKER_01: I've worked here for three years.
SPEAKER_00: Nice.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Free pizza?
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: It's
SPEAKER_01: I'm kinda tired of pizza now.
SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: I'm going in.
SPEAKER_00: K.
SPEAKER_00: So you've known him for about six years through school, and then you worked here as well.
SPEAKER_00: How often do you text or call him?
SPEAKER_00: Or
SPEAKER_01: Pretty much never.
SPEAKER_00: Never?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: I kind of if I end up around him, it's through other mutual friends.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: When is the last time that you saw him?
SPEAKER_01: It'd be Thanksgiving weekend.
SPEAKER_01: I don't know the date of that, but it would have been Friday night of Thanksgiving weekend just last time I saw him.
SPEAKER_00: What were you guys doing?
SPEAKER_01: Um, I was out with my parents actually, and I saw him at, um, a bar downtown.
SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01: Just briefly sat had him there.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: When's the last time you hung out with him?
SPEAKER_01: Um, that would have been probably the weekend before that.
SPEAKER_01: So I'm trying to think of what even the date is.
SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
SPEAKER_00: Today is, well, the beginning of December.
SPEAKER_01: Beginning of December.
SPEAKER_01: I saw him, like, beginning of Thanksgiving break and then towards, like, the end of Thanksgiving break, and then the last time was that Friday night.
SPEAKER_01: So, like, two times that week, I
SPEAKER_00: think.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: You hung out with him, though, like, when they had beers or whatever?
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Between on that Thanksgiving break?
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: During that time when you went and had beers with them, who were you all with?
SPEAKER_01: I was with him, our friend and then my friend
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: The time before or after when you hung out with him, who were you with as well?
SPEAKER_01: I was with my other friends earlier that night, and I ran into him and then our friend and at a different bar that night, and then I went and hung out with them at house.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: So the night that you saw and you guys were hanging out, how how was their demeanor?
SPEAKER_00: How were they?
SPEAKER_01: They were just quiet and sad and not really talking a lot.
SPEAKER_01: And and I had, like, short conversation about the whole thing up there.
SPEAKER_00: Right.
SPEAKER_01: He seemed stressed out, and then also just kinda, like, freaked out.
SPEAKER_00: What did what did mention to you about kind of the thing that's going down?
SPEAKER_01: He was talking about how he had a reporter show up at his house Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: And that his parents were wanting to put up, like, no trespassing signs so that if people keep showing up, they can actually do something about it.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
SPEAKER_01: But pretty much just that briefly.
SPEAKER_00: So just his frustrations with the media trying to contact on the Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Did he talk at all about the incident or anything?
SPEAKER_01: No.
SPEAKER_01: Just that he had been with them earlier that night.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, he had been with the girls, the the victims up there?
SPEAKER_01: I think Okay.
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Did he say where he was at when he was with them?
SPEAKER_00: No.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: What about what did he have to say about it?
SPEAKER_01: He didn't really talk about it at all.
SPEAKER_00: He didn't?
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: And you said kinda seemed a little more reserved?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: By that, is it he just wasn't being his normal self?
SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's always been really, really quiet, but he just wasn't really talking, like, to his closer friends as much either because he's a lot closer with than I am too.
SPEAKER_00: Would you Mhmm.
SPEAKER_01: Because I was with them earlier that night, and then we ended up just having beers at Test 4.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Where'd you guys go have beers at?
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, bad.
SPEAKER_00: Never heard of
SPEAKER_01: it.
SPEAKER_01: It's like beer pop downtown.
SPEAKER_00: It's a good shift.
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
SPEAKER_01: It's a it's a fun spot.
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
SPEAKER_00: So you guys have beer here.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Man, that would be nice.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we're working.
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think of what else know expressed his frustration with the media and yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think.
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know them by last name, but first name gets a little hard for me.
SPEAKER_00: It just seemed a little more reserved.
SPEAKER_00: Mhmm.
SPEAKER_00: Could you see either one of those two guys being the person or maybe both?
SPEAKER_01: Like, do you just know?
SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
SPEAKER_00: What makes you say that?
SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, the time I've known them Mhmm.
SPEAKER_01: Like, they can be assholes sometimes, but
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
SPEAKER_01: One of my guy friends can't.
SPEAKER_01: But they've never been, like, even, like, slightly aggressive or hostile or at least around me.
SPEAKER_01: And
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_01: I was just, like, don't see that at all.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Do either of them have any kind of, like, short fuse or temper, and just, like, uncontrollable?
SPEAKER_01: No.
SPEAKER_01: Not, like, uncontrollable.
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've seen get frustrated since, I mean, he worked in the kitchen, but Right.
SPEAKER_01: I've never seen him, like, blow up or anything like that.
SPEAKER_01: And, got mad at me one time in, like, high school because I puked in his yard.
SPEAKER_01: So, like but I'm like but, like, I've never seen either of them get, like Right.
SPEAKER_01: Over the top angry.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Do you have any knowledge of what happened up there?
SPEAKER_00: Do you know of anything?
SPEAKER_01: No.
SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
SPEAKER_00: Any follow ups?
SPEAKER_00: You hit everything.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
