SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: It is 11/15/2022 at 12:32PM. SPEAKER_00: This is detective sergeant Mike Van Lueven with the Idaho State Police. SPEAKER_00: With me is, uh, detective Richard Alderson with the Idaho State Police, and we are here interviewing Is it whose date of birth is And we are at the district one investigations office. SPEAKER_00: So if you could just tell us briefly, um, your relationship with, uh, we're we're here talking about the homicide that occurred in Moscow on the early morning hours of November 13. SPEAKER_00: What is what is your relationship or your knowledge about the people that were killed? SPEAKER_01: I'll start with Kaylee who is my ex girlfriend of over And we broke up. SPEAKER_01: How do you pronounce her last name? SPEAKER_01: Goncalves. SPEAKER_01: We broke up about roughly three months before this happened. SPEAKER_01: And then Maddie was a longtime friend of Kaylee's. SPEAKER_01: I went to high school with Maddie. SPEAKER_01: I've been to and other road trips with both Kaylee and Maddie. SPEAKER_01: I know Kaylee's family really well just from dating her for because I know Maddie's parents, her mom, or her stepdad. SPEAKER_01: I don't know her real bad. SPEAKER_01: Xana was I knew her, who she was in high school because she went to Post Falls. SPEAKER_01: I would see her in Moscow all the time. SPEAKER_01: I'd say hi. SPEAKER_01: I talked to her. SPEAKER_01: Never really, like, hung out with her specifically. SPEAKER_01: Um, I worked with Xana's sister at, um, here in for a few years. SPEAKER_01: Um, and I would see Xana when I would be at the house hanging out with Kaylee. SPEAKER_01: And then Ethan, not real close with him. SPEAKER_01: I've met him and said hi to him. SPEAKER_01: He ex I exchanged Snapchats once. SPEAKER_01: I haven't really ever hung out with him now. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Um, let's talk about, um, let's talk about your history and your family. SPEAKER_00: Um, how long have you lived in Idaho? SPEAKER_01: Sorry. SPEAKER_02: And just for the recording, we always used to say that, but you understand you're here with your free will. SPEAKER_02: That door is unlocked. SPEAKER_02: That door is unlocked. SPEAKER_02: There you can leave at any time. SPEAKER_02: K. SPEAKER_01: Thanks, you know. SPEAKER_02: We just have to sit up there. SPEAKER_00: What schools did you go to growing up? SPEAKER_00: What are your parents' names. SPEAKER_00: And you have any siblings? SPEAKER_00: Yes. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So then you started any other family around here, grandparents or extended SPEAKER_01: family? SPEAKER_01: Like SPEAKER_02: What's your major? SPEAKER_02: Your what year are you at? SPEAKER_02: So SPEAKER_00: you said you started you dated Kaylee for and you broke up two months ago. SPEAKER_01: I'd say closer to three. SPEAKER_01: Three months ago. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So did you meet her in high school then? SPEAKER_01: I knew who she was in middle school, but never like started hanging out or talking to her till high school. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Till high school? SPEAKER_00: Right. SPEAKER_00: And then what high school did she go to? SPEAKER_00: Lake City. SPEAKER_00: Lake City. SPEAKER_00: So did you were you boyfriend and girlfriend in high school? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So what happened after you guys broke up? SPEAKER_01: Go ahead. SPEAKER_01: So this SPEAKER_00: was a mutual decision? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: It wasn't no hard feelings, no cheating, SPEAKER_01: or anything like that? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: We still talked. SPEAKER_01: Like, we own her and I own a dog together, so so I still talked. SPEAKER_01: And we live, like, 200 feet from each other, and I still talked probably more days than not. SPEAKER_01: Caridale. SPEAKER_01: He's a mini goldendoodle. SPEAKER_01: Mini goldendoodle. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: So a manager is a golden retriever poodle. SPEAKER_01: Mini poodle, mini bread with a golden retriever fat, full size, you know. SPEAKER_01: So SPEAKER_00: there was no drama between you and her when it comes to the breakup? SPEAKER_01: No fights, no yelling, no hard I mean, there's just like SPEAKER_00: no other girl, no other boy. SPEAKER_01: Not at the time of the breakup. SPEAKER_01: Like, I think we've seen each other hanging out with, like, other guys and girls, like, at the bar and stuff since then. SPEAKER_01: And there's been, like, some back and forth conversation. SPEAKER_01: I heard that she slept in, like, another guy's bed, and I asked her about it. SPEAKER_01: And she said nothing happened. SPEAKER_01: She just didn't wanna walk home the night. SPEAKER_00: Who is that guy? SPEAKER_01: I don't know. SPEAKER_01: She wouldn't tell me. SPEAKER_01: Do you suspect you know who it is? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_00: What what day was that? SPEAKER_01: That's probably, like, two months ago. SPEAKER_01: I couldn't bump in. SPEAKER_01: Oh, two months ago? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: And she didn't you have no idea who that might be. SPEAKER_01: I don't. SPEAKER_01: I tried to ask her, but How'd she find out about? SPEAKER_01: I asked her if she's done anything, and she told me that. SPEAKER_02: She screamed and told you she'd slept pretty ass better because she got it. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: And I asked if she would tell me who, and she said, no. SPEAKER_01: It's none of my business. SPEAKER_02: Do you feel that's why she didn't tell you? SPEAKER_02: Or why did you say she won't tell you? SPEAKER_01: I just I don't know if she just didn't wanna hurt me, but I'm not sure. SPEAKER_02: How would you describe y'all's relationship like? SPEAKER_01: I can tell you the exact time if that's helpful. SPEAKER_01: Where do you work? SPEAKER_00: When did what were your working hours on? SPEAKER_00: Was it Saturday, twelfth? SPEAKER_01: Well, I got there. SPEAKER_01: I was scheduled at two, but I didn't get there till about 02:20. SPEAKER_01: And then I got off at Probably close to 10:30. SPEAKER_01: I actually loaded my clock out time again if that's how That was on Saturday the twelfth. SPEAKER_00: The year 02/20 to 10:30 shift, that was Saturday the twelfth. SPEAKER_01: Right. SPEAKER_01: What's that fall? SPEAKER_01: I did some there, but a lot of it's just in the kitchen. SPEAKER_01: That's what I do mostly. SPEAKER_01: Actually, cooking stuff? SPEAKER_01: Like Yeah. SPEAKER_01: He just opened the the restaurant portion of it in, like, September. SPEAKER_01: So how how much cooking experience, bud? SPEAKER_02: The maroon? SPEAKER_02: Yeah. SPEAKER_02: So what do you make? SPEAKER_02: Why is it, like It's like frozen stuffy's beer, do you actually set stuff? SPEAKER_01: Others it's mainly, like, pizza, salads, wings, salmon, tater tots. SPEAKER_01: It's a pretty small menu. SPEAKER_01: Nachos. SPEAKER_01: It might might might be all of it. SPEAKER_02: It's a great Netflix special at making pizzas, by the way, you're in. SPEAKER_00: So, um, what what okay. SPEAKER_00: Let's let's just stick with the day here for for a while. SPEAKER_00: After you got off at 10:30, where'd you go? SPEAKER_01: Uh, one of my texted me and asked if anyone he works with the he what's his what's his SPEAKER_00: I'm how do you spell his SPEAKER_01: last l? SPEAKER_00: Hey. SPEAKER_00: What's his telephone number? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: You said one of my roommates. SPEAKER_00: How many roommates do you have? SPEAKER_01: What are your other roommates' names? SPEAKER_01: One SPEAKER_00: Ted, do have numbers for them? SPEAKER_01: And don't believe I actually have this phone number. SPEAKER_01: We have a Snapchat group chat that is what we use communicate as roommates. SPEAKER_01: I have a to my phone, but I believe that's my cousin, not my roommate. SPEAKER_01: Does she wanna take that out? SPEAKER_00: It's okay. SPEAKER_00: Um, okay. SPEAKER_00: So after your shift, what happened? SPEAKER_01: Works at the corner club, and he texted in our Snapchat group chat, and he said, hey. SPEAKER_01: If anyone's gonna come to the bring me my chicken Alfredo, I think it was. SPEAKER_01: And I replied back in the chat, I told him, hey. SPEAKER_01: I'll bring you half a pizza on a mouth forage on my way back home. SPEAKER_01: So I as I was pulling up, I texted him. SPEAKER_01: I said, hey. SPEAKER_01: Can you run out? SPEAKER_01: And he never answered, so I walked in. SPEAKER_01: I handed it to him. SPEAKER_01: Um, I was in there for probably two minutes. SPEAKER_01: And then I walked out. SPEAKER_01: I went home. SPEAKER_00: This is a pizza you brought from work. SPEAKER_01: Yes. SPEAKER_00: Um, so you drove from work to the corner of Yes. SPEAKER_00: And what kind of vehicle do you have? SPEAKER_01: And that's you're currently driving that? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So you're in the two minutes. SPEAKER_00: You gave the pizza, and then what happened? SPEAKER_01: Um, I drove home, and the the house I lived in is technically out but it's a duplex. SPEAKER_01: There's a two main above us, which are also just some of my buddies. SPEAKER_01: And when I walked in my house, I didn't really see anyone around, so I just walked upstairs to see what was going on. SPEAKER_01: All my roommates are up there, and they told me that they were all gonna head to the clubs downstairs, changed, and headed to the club with them. SPEAKER_01: These guys. SPEAKER_01: Your roommates. SPEAKER_01: You tweeted names. SPEAKER_01: I don't know. SPEAKER_01: I was working. SPEAKER_01: I know we're up there. SPEAKER_01: Who else It's one of the people who lives up there. SPEAKER_01: I believe K. SPEAKER_01: And was up there. SPEAKER_01: I know that wasn't him. SPEAKER_01: He's not one of the people who lives up I don't know how to spell it. SPEAKER_01: I could poke him up if you like. SPEAKER_00: So when you said and SPEAKER_01: Does that make you say up there? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And Anybody who says those four? SPEAKER_01: Possibly, um, the other roommate that lives up there who is I can't recall if he was actually in the room at the time. SPEAKER_00: Chloe. SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure. SPEAKER_01: And they and they SPEAKER_00: said we're going to the club. SPEAKER_00: Does that mean the corner club? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And so you went downstairs to get ready to go? SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: And what did that entail? SPEAKER_00: You getting ready to go. SPEAKER_01: I guess I could swap sweatshirts and throw in some deodorant. SPEAKER_01: That's about it. SPEAKER_01: And I actually I grabbed a beer from my fridge, and I walked upstairs and drank one with them until our ride is here. SPEAKER_00: Oh, you got a Uber or something? SPEAKER_01: We have a sober driver within our fraternity. SPEAKER_01: It's like a sign for the night. SPEAKER_00: What fraternity are you? SPEAKER_00: Chase, not sure. SPEAKER_00: Are all guys members SPEAKER_01: is technically inactive, so he's not affiliated anymore, but everyone he hangs out with him, it's, like, friends with this part of it. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Was he not initiated? SPEAKER_01: He was initiated. SPEAKER_01: He just got put on, like, early alumni status. SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was several school. SPEAKER_01: What was that? SPEAKER_01: There's, like, probably ten, twelve guys out of, like, 70 that got put on early LMSs, means they're not allowed to, like, attend the chapter meetings or, like, social events or anything. SPEAKER_00: Do you remember who the sober driver was SPEAKER_01: that came up with you? SPEAKER_01: It's one of our freshmen when I was trying to leave. SPEAKER_01: I can't remember his name, but I could also find it if that's helpful because they posted on our Facebook group. SPEAKER_00: What kind of car? SPEAKER_01: I believe he was borrowing one of his strange car, and I wanna say it was a a Nissan Xterra. SPEAKER_01: Black. SPEAKER_00: So do you remember who all got in the Xterra to go from your did you go directly from your apartment to Cornercload? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So who all was in the car with you? SPEAKER_01: Actually, was also upstairs when I was up there, and he, um, he was the only one who didn't get in the car with us to go. SPEAKER_01: So I believe there was me. SPEAKER_01: Just the four of you? SPEAKER_01: I think so. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So what time do you think you got to the corner club by? SPEAKER_01: My best guess would be between eleven and 11:30. SPEAKER_01: Probably closer to eleven. SPEAKER_01: People still throw peanuts on the ground? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: They have popcorn that makes a mess, but SPEAKER_00: they still have to pick a table, shuffleboard thing SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_01: On one wall. SPEAKER_02: It's my last time worrying about it. SPEAKER_01: Did you video about that? SPEAKER_02: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Alright. SPEAKER_00: So when you got to the Prairie Club, was it prepacked? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: We actually they weren't even letting anyone in because it was so packed, but was working. SPEAKER_00: Then what happened in the club? SPEAKER_01: Just kind of a normal night. SPEAKER_01: I kinda got talking with some guy who I heard from two of my friends that he, like, tugged some one of my buddy's hair and then tried to take another one's drink. SPEAKER_01: And so I, like, I went up and talked to him. SPEAKER_01: I was like, hey. SPEAKER_01: Did like, stop being a dumbass to them. SPEAKER_01: One of my buddies, he, like, grabbed me, he was like, hey, dude. SPEAKER_01: Like, you don't wanna mess around like this? SPEAKER_01: Just like, oh, alright. SPEAKER_01: That was the only thing that was abnormal. SPEAKER_01: Uh, I did. SPEAKER_00: Do you know who the guy is? SPEAKER_01: Bro, uh, I think his first name is Daniel. SPEAKER_01: This is what everyone calls in. SPEAKER_01: I also did speak to Kaylee that night at the corp. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: So SPEAKER_00: he was bothering one of your friends, and you went to confront him and said that we belong. SPEAKER_00: Have SPEAKER_01: you had problems work? SPEAKER_01: I haven't, but I know he's just he's a dumb drunk, and he just I know he kinda can cause problems. SPEAKER_00: Was he a member of the house? SPEAKER_01: Um, he was a part I believe he's still part of it, but I know they've had some guy to stop as well. SPEAKER_01: Or think good about the and I ended up buying each other a shot after kinda tripping at each other for a minute. SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: What else what else happened? SPEAKER_01: Like I said, I did speak to Kaylee for probably about a minute. SPEAKER_01: Um, I just basically, just said, hi. SPEAKER_01: How are you? SPEAKER_01: Who was she there with? SPEAKER_01: I don't know who she came away for left with, but she was with, like, a big group of her friends, seven to eight of them. SPEAKER_00: Was, uh, Abby there? SPEAKER_01: I don't specifically remember seeing her, but I believe that just from what I've been trying to find out that she was also there. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: What about Zara or Ethan? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: Neither of them are 21. SPEAKER_01: Do you remember for sure anybody that was there with Kayla Kaylee at the court club? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Did you know that Kaylee was gonna be at the quarter club? SPEAKER_00: No. SPEAKER_00: Was it common for her to SPEAKER_01: be at the quarter club? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: We run on to each other there. SPEAKER_01: Probably most weekends. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Does Kaylee have a job? SPEAKER_01: She does. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: She works remotely for a company called Extreme Networks. SPEAKER_00: But she doesn't have a job at any place in Moscow. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: But not currently. SPEAKER_01: Should it over the summer? SPEAKER_00: Extreme networks? SPEAKER_01: First she do. SPEAKER_01: I don't know exactly. SPEAKER_01: I think it's, like, the networking side of I don't know. SPEAKER_01: She just she talks to clients and kinda tries to see what they need as far as, like, cloud services and stuff like that. SPEAKER_01: I didn't really do more specific. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So who was who was with Kaylee for sure at the corner club when you saw her? SPEAKER_01: It's tough to say because, like, everyone knows each other there. SPEAKER_01: Like, whether you came with them or not, I said, I don't know, like, who her squad was that night, but, um, I know was also there, and she's a good friend of yours. SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty certain that So I think I'd lost Anna Spaube, was also there. SPEAKER_01: And I was trying to talk to her because she called Kaylee. SPEAKER_01: I think she's the last person to call Kaylee while she was still at the club. SPEAKER_01: Is Kaylee a pi fi? SPEAKER_01: She lives or is all pi fis, SPEAKER_00: but she was an alpha phi. SPEAKER_00: She was navy. SPEAKER_00: But okay. SPEAKER_00: So Maddie and Zena were pi fis. SPEAKER_01: Kaylee and I just had always wanted to live together, so they decided to do a fair scenario to let it off. SPEAKER_01: It's on the house. SPEAKER_00: And, uh, Ethan's a civic eye? SPEAKER_01: I believe so. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: So who else? SPEAKER_01: I know was also there. SPEAKER_01: Kaylee's not super close with her right now, but that is actually girlfriend. SPEAKER_01: I couldn't I don't think I can give you any more names that were for certain there. SPEAKER_01: I tried to kinda avoid that friend group when I'm out. SPEAKER_01: With these girls, aphies? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Not that I don't like them. SPEAKER_01: Just No. SPEAKER_01: I mean, we're we're and were they a piece? SPEAKER_01: Yes. SPEAKER_01: Did they get along with high fives? SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: When you talked to Kaylee, what did you talk about? SPEAKER_01: Um, just said hi. SPEAKER_01: I'm like, how you doing? SPEAKER_01: Or my nine nine went straight into mentioning the old tussle with Ro. SPEAKER_01: And I don't even think we really, like, concluded the conversation, I think. SPEAKER_01: I turned back around to the bar to where Ro blows. SPEAKER_01: I think that's where my bottom body his shot. SPEAKER_01: He bought the one from me right before that. SPEAKER_01: What's look like? SPEAKER_01: He's SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: After you did you talk to did you talk to Kaylee again before you left? SPEAKER_00: 04:00? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: That's lost. SPEAKER_01: Good stuff, sir. SPEAKER_01: Did she leave before you left, or did he leave before she left? SPEAKER_01: That I'm not. SPEAKER_01: Nope. SPEAKER_01: What time did you leave? SPEAKER_01: Um, I've been trying to figure that out. SPEAKER_01: I don't know. SPEAKER_01: My best guess is about one. SPEAKER_01: What should you have to drink that bite? SPEAKER_01: Um, I had two beers when I got home from work before leaving to the corn club, and then I had the two shots that and I took together. SPEAKER_01: And then I took one more shot with and his girlfriend. SPEAKER_01: And then I had a Telabir. SPEAKER_01: I believe that was all. SPEAKER_01: Cutter shots. SPEAKER_01: I took World Healer shots with and Rumpelman shots with it's a hard combination. SPEAKER_00: A tub of beer. SPEAKER_00: How much beer is that? SPEAKER_01: Is 32 ounces, I think. SPEAKER_00: K. SPEAKER_00: So how did you leave the club? SPEAKER_01: Um, I was trying to get a ride from our sober driver, but right outside the club, and we were planning on fitting more people than were allowed in a car. SPEAKER_01: But since made a few friends stay back. SPEAKER_01: Uh, and then of our chapter told our sober driver that he can be done for the night and came and picked me in Alfonso. SPEAKER_00: What was he trying? SPEAKER_01: I was. SPEAKER_01: Where did He lives in the house a bit. SPEAKER_01: House is it? SPEAKER_01: So
