Item 95.9.1: Swab of Poland Spring water bottle and cap from █████████████████ Blakeslee, PA
Item 96.1: Swab of Bowl and Basket water bottle and cap from █████████████████ Blakeslee, PA
Item 97: DNA extracts from Items 79.1, 80.1, 81.1, 82.1.1, 82.2.1, 83.1, 86.1, 87.1, 89.1, 93.1, 95.5.1, 95.9.1, and 96.1
CONCLUSIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS:

Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Analysis, employing the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), was used to generate a Short Tandem Repeat (STR) profile from Items 87.1, 89.1, 93.1, 95.9.1, and 96.1. 1 The DNA profile obtained from Item 87.1 was determined to be from an unknown male (Male E).

Male E is not the source of DNA previously obtained from Item 1.1 (See Report No. 4 issued
11/20/2022).

Laboratory Case Number: M2022-4843 Report No.:
17 Based upon evaluation of the DNA profile obtained from Item 87.1 (Male E) and that previously obtained from Item 1.1 (Male A), Male E cannot be excluded as being the biological father of Male A.

The single parentage index for the loci examined is 19,070,000. At least 99.9998% of the male population would be expected to be excluded from the possibility of being the biological father of Male A.

The DNA profile obtained from Item 89.1 was determined to be a mixture of two individuals with a major female profile. This profile was not used for comparisons.

The partial DNA profile obtained from Item 93.1 is consistent with Male E.

The DNA profile obtained from Item 95.9.1 was determined to be a mixture of two individuals with a major male profile. This profile was not used for comparisons.

Due to insufficient quantity or degradation, only a partial DNA profile, consisting of three alleles, was obtained from Item 96.1. This profile was not used for comparisons.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) extraction and quantification, employing real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), were performed on Items 79.1, 80.1, 81.1, 82.1.1, 82.2.1, 83.1, 86.1, and 95.5.1.

A low level of male DNA was detected on Item 81.1; however, due to a high level of female DNA detected, no further testing was conducted on this item.

No male DNA was detected on Items 79.1, 82.1.1, 82.2.1, 83.1, and 86.1. No further testing was conducted on these items.

No DNA was detected on Items 80.1 and 95.5.1. No further testing was conducted on these items.

Further interpretation may be performed upon submission of a known reference sample from any relevant individual (s).

Additional comparisons will follow in a separate report.

DISPOSITION OF EVIDENCE:

Items 79.1, 80.1, 81.1, 82.1.1, 82.2.1, 83.1, 86.1, 87.1, and 95.5.1 were consumed during testing;
however, DNA extract remains for these items. Items 89.1, 93.1, 95.9.1, and 96.1 and their DNA extracts were consumed during testing. All other items have been returned to the main laboratory evidence vault for return to the submitting agency.
