SPEAKER_00: We'll just sit right here. SPEAKER_00: I think this office is occupied. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: This is our interview room, but so you're not under arrest or anything, man. SPEAKER_00: We're trying to SPEAKER_01: do some follow-up. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: I guess SPEAKER_00: you heard what happened on campus Yeah. SPEAKER_01: On the weekend. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Heard about that. SPEAKER_00: So what happened to your hand? SPEAKER_01: So it was Saturday night, probably, like, eight, eight. SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_01: Um, I was intoxicated, and I was trying to cut a chicken patty with my pocket knife, and I just sliced it off. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: See what saying. SPEAKER_00: So you said Saturday night? SPEAKER_01: Saturday night. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: This past Saturday? SPEAKER_01: Yep. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: When did you go to the doctors? SPEAKER_00: I went the next morning. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: I went back to SPEAKER_01: the time. SPEAKER_01: Think it should be, uh, 02:00. SPEAKER_00: 02:00? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: I went to the other next day at 02:00. SPEAKER_01: The next okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: So Saturday night around 08:30. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: You'd been drinking? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Um, so you were cooking? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Were you at your house? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Where do you live at? SPEAKER_00: I live SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yep. SPEAKER_01: And so I was just cooking chicken patty up and then try to get out this. SPEAKER_01: And SPEAKER_00: then so the next day, did you do anything that night? SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm guessing you just put, like, wrapped it. SPEAKER_00: How deep is the laceration? SPEAKER_00: I know. SPEAKER_00: I don't want you to take off your Yeah. SPEAKER_01: I I can't. SPEAKER_01: It's like don't know. SPEAKER_01: Don't see, like it's more of, like, a big gouge. SPEAKER_01: Like, a big it's like a slide open, and so it was, like, peeling back and stuff. SPEAKER_00: And that's your right hand? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: And so last night, I just I have I have a picture of the wound if you wanna see it. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Do you mind? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Of course. SPEAKER_01: But I just got a bandage. SPEAKER_01: There's a bunch of girls in the room with me, and so they were all going crazy bandaging it and stuff. SPEAKER_00: And then Sunday at, like, 2PM, you went to Gritman? SPEAKER_00: Yep. SPEAKER_00: And what did, uh, did they just patch do that for you? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: They so they glued it because it was too late to use stitches in it. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Because I went I should've went, um, Saturday night. SPEAKER_01: There's it initially. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: But SPEAKER_00: is there any way you can, uh, is that saved, SPEAKER_01: or is that just on your story? SPEAKER_01: Or No. SPEAKER_01: That's saved. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: It's saved. SPEAKER_01: And and then here's at the hospital with it cleaned up a little bit. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Are you able to send those to me via email? SPEAKER_01: I think I can. SPEAKER_01: Both of them? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: I can. SPEAKER_00: I can give you a card with my SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: I can totally do that. SPEAKER_00: And then, um, I'm guessing so you you knew what happened on Sunday. SPEAKER_00: Do you know any of the people that were involved in this? SPEAKER_00: I know I'm glad to kind of SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: I knew I talked to Ethan Chaplin probably, don't know, twice just at parties and stuff. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: So I I wasn't I wasn't close with any of them, but Okay. SPEAKER_01: I know a bunch of our our guys in our house were close to the AP. SPEAKER_00: AP? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: I know I know not to, uh, spun up on this, like, do fraternity houses and sorority houses, do they kind of like are there certain ones that are, like, brother sister houses, or what do you guys consider those? SPEAKER_01: There's definitely houses that are closer Uh-huh. SPEAKER_01: Than, like, the other houses. SPEAKER_01: And I would say AC is probably our closest house. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: I've made an AC, and then but there is, like, different houses get along better with other houses. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Just because So you SPEAKER_00: guys don't have, like, to, like every year, it's, one of those things where, like, that's our sister house or something? SPEAKER_01: Oh, there is a sister house. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Ours Okay. SPEAKER_01: But that just doesn't mean that we, like SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean you yeah. SPEAKER_00: I I get that. SPEAKER_01: But that's just That looks like the national standard. SPEAKER_00: So you guys are your sister house? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: But you guys you SPEAKER_01: guys have a lot SPEAKER_00: of friends or you have a lot of friends that hang out with a lot of females that are in SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And then what kind of knife were you using to cut the chicken? SPEAKER_00: Just like a basic kitchen knife? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: It was a pocket knife. SPEAKER_01: Pocket knife? SPEAKER_01: The Kershaw. SPEAKER_01: Just normal Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: I SPEAKER_00: So the three females, you've never I'm guessing maybe passing, seen them, but you never, like, had a relationship with them, talked SPEAKER_01: to them. SPEAKER_01: Yep. SPEAKER_01: I I never talked to any three. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: I just sent you that. SPEAKER_01: Perfect. SPEAKER_00: So can you just run me through just like an overview of your weekend starting Saturday morning? SPEAKER_01: I slept in Saturday morning. SPEAKER_01: It was a game day, so I probably got up, like, 09:30 or ten ish. SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_01: And then showered, got ready for the day. SPEAKER_01: And then I didn't go to the game, but I went to which is it's on that road by the Whites by King Road. SPEAKER_01: Mhmm. SPEAKER_01: But it's not up King Road. SPEAKER_01: It's not a flat one. SPEAKER_01: It's just a SPEAKER_00: deep tunnel. SPEAKER_00: Taylor? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: So it's a it's just a Okay. SPEAKER_01: And so we spent the whole day there watching the game there because it was cool. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: And so we were just all excited there watching the game. SPEAKER_01: And then I finally left that place, I think, like, seven. SPEAKER_01: Then that's when I went back to And I just spent the rest of my night at the SPEAKER_00: And then what time did you wake up on Sunday? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Do you know what time you went to bed on Saturday night? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: It was late, like, 04:30, five. SPEAKER_00: In the morning? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: So Sunday morning, you went to bed around four? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: You guys knew where partying and stuff? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Were you with anyone? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Can you give me a name of people that you were with? SPEAKER_00: Is he another SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: He is. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: And then SPEAKER_00: Do you have phone numbers for that? SPEAKER_01: Let's see if I do. SPEAKER_01: I have phone number. SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I Okay. SPEAKER_01: I can ask her for it, though, if you want. SPEAKER_00: Alright. SPEAKER_00: It's just we might need to talk to them too. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: The the that's on by the way, you said? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Is it the one that's, a kind of a SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: It's a little SPEAKER_01: with the bottom like right now. SPEAKER_01: Las Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Is that where No. SPEAKER_00: No. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: The number is right there. SPEAKER_00: Great. SPEAKER_00: So you went to bed around four in the morning between four and five in the morning on, um, Sunday. SPEAKER_00: Yep. SPEAKER_00: And then you woke up, I'm guessing later because you had a long night. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: And what do you know what you said you don't know what time you woke up? SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_01: Probably, like, I think, like, ten or eleven ish. SPEAKER_01: And when I woke up was I woke up to my phone blowing up from we had, like, the and they should blowing up of what was happening, what we found out happened. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: We SPEAKER_01: were like, oh god. SPEAKER_00: Um, and then did you do anything between the time you woke up and you went to the doctors or the hospital? SPEAKER_00: I just showered. SPEAKER_00: Showered. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: That radio? SPEAKER_00: Probably looking at text messages and stuff? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Think it is anything else. SPEAKER_00: Would you be willing to sign a consent form if we take it to to just get your medical records regarding your hand injury? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Um, that would just be, like, you indicating that we're like, you're giving us permission to go to and you're giving permission to release your medical records just regarding this hand injury. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: They did a I called him. SPEAKER_01: Did they check for? SPEAKER_01: I think he's checking for glass in it too because he wanted to see if because there was a we have a window in there, and it was broken the next morning. SPEAKER_01: So they were they wanted me to get a check for glass to see if I maybe hit the window, but there was no glass in there. SPEAKER_01: So SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: You said where was this? SPEAKER_00: The glass SPEAKER_01: house. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And that was broken that night too? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: They it was we found it broken the next morning, and then so then they thought that or, like, some other guy thought that I might have ran into the window that night. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: And so they SPEAKER_01: wanted me to get it checked for glass just to make sure. SPEAKER_00: They were okay. SPEAKER_01: So that's why went into the yard originally. SPEAKER_01: But there was no glass in it, and so I'm not I'm still not a 100% sure if I hit the window SPEAKER_00: or not. SPEAKER_00: But Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: But SPEAKER_00: And I'm guessing you you stayed all day, so you slept in your room? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: No SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Are SPEAKER_01: you Yep. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: And SPEAKER_00: then so that that window thing that came after, like, you you cut it on a knife cutting chicken Mhmm. SPEAKER_00: But then the next morning, you couldn't remember if you ex if you hit that glass too. SPEAKER_00: So that's why some of your buddies recommended Yeah. SPEAKER_00: That they check. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Because the we found the glass, like, broken a little bit. SPEAKER_01: And so and then was like, you should probably go get it checked. SPEAKER_01: So he was actually the one that drove me to the ER. SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh. SPEAKER_01: And he was like he was like, maybe hit the window. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: I was like, no. SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure I cut it with chicken. SPEAKER_01: Cut it with my knife. SPEAKER_01: And he was like, we should go and get it checked out. SPEAKER_01: So we did. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Is that window still broken? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Do you still have that knife that you cut yourself with? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Are those at your SPEAKER_01: house? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: It's just in my bag. SPEAKER_00: Would it be an issue if we went and looked at that knife in the window? SPEAKER_01: I don't think so. SPEAKER_01: No. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: I'll call one of my guys and see if they if that's something if if you're willing to let us look at the knife and possibly take it just to make see if there is blood on it. SPEAKER_01: It wouldn't matter if I cleaned it off, though? SPEAKER_01: I did wash it off the next morning. SPEAKER_00: No. SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't. SPEAKER_00: We just to see the knife that you cut yourself with. SPEAKER_01: You guys can take it. SPEAKER_00: Um, and then look at that window to see the damage to it. SPEAKER_00: Um, are you gonna be home today? SPEAKER_01: I was actually gonna head out. SPEAKER_01: Like, I was supposed to head out at noon. SPEAKER_01: But SPEAKER_00: Going back home home? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Where do you live? SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: No one really wants to work. SPEAKER_00: No. SPEAKER_00: You're good. SPEAKER_00: And are you going home for, like, a while? SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Till till school starts up after Thanksgiving. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Are they still having classes this week, or did they end up canceling every SPEAKER_01: It depends class to class, but all my classes postponed all the assignments and stuff till after Thanksgiving. SPEAKER_01: Okay. SPEAKER_01: Is happening and stuff. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Understandable. SPEAKER_01: Most of us are deciding to go in. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Uh, what's your address in the SPEAKER_01: Perfect. SPEAKER_01: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: That's it. SPEAKER_00: Alright. SPEAKER_00: Do you know, like, are any of your buddies gonna be at SPEAKER_01: That were that were there with me? SPEAKER_00: No. SPEAKER_00: That that could, like, let us look at the window and then possibly retrieve that knife. SPEAKER_01: I'll I can go I'll be there for a little bit if you guys want to. SPEAKER_00: Just go straight up. SPEAKER_00: Okay. SPEAKER_00: Are you going there right now? SPEAKER_00: Yeah. SPEAKER_01: Perfect. SPEAKER_01: So if you guys wanna come with me, I can take you.
