Bethany Funke was a resident of the 1122 King Road house and a member of Pi Beta Phi who became connected to the Idaho 4 case through her presence during the events and subsequent investigative interviews. During the early morning hours of the events, another resident peeked out her bedroom door around 4:00 a.m. and saw a figure dressed in black, after which she went downstairs to Bethany Funke's room where the two girls claimed to have fallen asleep. Approximately eight hours later, at 11:56 a.m., a 911 call was placed from Bethany's phone. In the aftermath, Funke participated in law enforcement interviews, including an amended second interview, and her banking records and electronic devices were cataloged as part of the case materials. Legal proceedings subsequently addressed potential victim status regarding a burglary charge, as well as forensic DNA casework involving her data determinations.
